Truck loading structure calculation
Project Description
Design, structural verification, and certification of an elevated truck-loading bridge integrated with a conveyor belt system. The facility is designed to enable the continuous flow of material to transport vehicles via overhead platforms equipped with access walkways, stairs, and safety railings for operators.
Industrial Sector
Logistics (materials handling)
Technological Challenge
The main technical challenge was to analyze the mechanical strength of the support structure against the combinations of dynamic and static loads generated by conveyor belt operation, material accumulation, and personnel traffic. Furthermore, it was necessary to evaluate the assembly’s rigidity to prevent excessive vibrations and ensure strict compliance with CE marking requirements for the installation.
Development
Steyk carried out the structural analysis and certification phase. Using 3D models of the installation in STEP format, finite element analysis (FEA) was performed to verify the bridge’s profiles, connections, and anchorages. Concurrently, the technical safety file, risk assessment, and documentation required for the certification and CE marking process—covering both the structure and the complete assembly—were prepared.
Result
The submission of mechanical calculation reports and CE marking documentation made it possible to validate the infrastructure’s safety and stability prior to fabrication. Thanks to this technical verification, structural profiles were optimized, and full regulatory compliance for the loading line—as well as the project’s sustainability performance—was ensured.
