Industrial Sheet Metal Detail Engineering
The objective is geometric optimization for manufacturing in a highly competitive global environment. The challenge lies in minimizing material waste (scrapping) and reducing bending and welding times without compromising structural rigidity. It is necessary to predict metal behavior (neutral axis and bend radii) to ensure the final assembly is accurate and free of internal stresses, especially in assemblies with multiple nested components.
We use SolidWorks as the core tool for parametric design and sheet metal unfolding (SheetMetal), considered the leading technology for this discipline. The process includes defining bending sequences, sequential curving, and punching or shearing operations. Detailed engineering allows for the generation of construction plans directly interpretable by CNC machines (Laser, Press Brake, Punching Machine), ensuring a seamless transition from digital design to physical fabrication. We work closely with industry partners to ensure every bend and weld is optimized from the first prototype.
Extraordinary results have been achieved in minimizing production costs and reducing raw material usage per unit. The elimination of fit-up errors on the shop floor and the reduction of manual processes have allowed our clients to be more competitive. The final result consists of products with a professional finish—lightweight, robust, and fully optimized for both mass production and singular projects.
