Regulatory compliance reports for FRP tanks
Project Description
Development of the structural calculation and mechanical strength assessment of two different models of vertical tanks manufactured in Glass Fiber Reinforced Polyester (FRP). This involved a total of five units: four identical tanks intended to contain Acid and one tank intended to store water.

Technological Challenge
The main technical challenge lay in the traditional analytical calculation of the mechanical properties and resistance of FRP laminates under a prescribed BS 4994 standard, per the customer’s explicit request. It was necessary to evaluate the elastic behavior and the different construction layers of the material based on the stored chemical compound (particularly its corrosiveness). Furthermore, both reports had to be drafted within a record deadline of 10 calendar days.
Development
The engineering work was carried out entirely during the design and calculation phase, evaluating initial data—particularly the laminates and constituent materials—performing calculations using the formulas of the selected standard, submitting them for customer review, and obtaining final certification and official engineering endorsement. All deliverables were produced in English, strictly tailored to the specific local dialect.
Result
The preparation and delivery of the two endorsed calculation reports made it possible to verify and certify the stability, structural safety, and suitability of the tanks prior to manufacturing, as well as obtaining sign-off from the client, who thoroughly analyzed the results from a technical standpoint.
